SFM is the national congress of the French Society of Microbiology, titled "Microbes 2026". It will take place from October 7 to 9, 2026, at the Lyon Convention Centre.

Founded in 1937 and recognized as a registered charity since 1993, the French Society of Microbiology brings together microbiologists from the medical, industrial, and environmental sectors: bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. The theme of the 21st congress is "At the confluence of microbial worlds".
